It is said that we should not wait for the “Thanksgiving” season to exercise thanksgiving to our neighbors. Valerie Smith and her family are one of those neighbors in need. Ms. Smith and her family were displaced from their home as a result of hurricane Zeta. You can read the account of their story here and watch her store here.
Galatians 5:14 reads “For the whole law is summed up in a single commandment, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” It is in that spirit, Sankofa United Church of Christ is asking the community to exhibit love to the Smith family in their time of need.
